Cressbrook Gala Day

Cressbrook’s Annual Gala week commences on Sunday 9th June, starting at 2pm with a short service in Cressbrook Church, where Cressbrook Brass Band provide accompaniment for the hymns.  The band then marches down to the village well dressings, where the wells are blessed by the local Clergy. After the blessing, there will be plenty of fun stalls with things to buy and games to play.  Homemade cakes and food is served at the Cressbrook Club plus real ale and a licensed bar.  Cressbrook band will play a concert outside the club (inside if wet), starting at approximately 3.30pm until 5pm.  The club will remain open and you are welcome to stay on and watch the opening match of the Women’s World Cup – England v Scotland on the club’s big screen

On Saturday 15th June the band closes Gala week with a not to be missed Torchlight parade.  At 9.30pm bring your hankies and dance down the road to the Morris Dance, illuminated by flaming torches!  The club will also be open that evening, serving drinks.
Please note the well blessing, concert, live sport and torchlight procession are FREE attend.  You’ll need cash for any stalls you visit and a donation into the buckets is always welcome.  Events are family friendly but please note in respect of accessibility, there are some steps to get into the bar area of the club.
