A bit of a Do at Cressbrook

IMG_0263The new east window at Cressbrook Church was dedicated ‘to the glory of God’ and to the community of Cressbrook on Saturday August 8th, witnessed by just under thirty residents and visitors, after a socially distanced but sociable glass of wine in the church garden. Artist and donor Jeff Perks spoke of what Cressbrook and its people had come to mean to him and Carole in the years since they settled there, and how the window was intended to celebrate the village in the village church. Jeff’s design collaborator, local glass artist Dave Griffin, said how he’d valued working in partnership with Jeff for this commission. Simon White expressed thanks to both Jeff and Dave on behalf of Cressbrook Church, recalling the long and sometimes  frustrating story of steering the design through the planning process with the assistance of Sue Fiennes, before formally dedicating the window.
